Job Expired

My client is a well-established boutique in London with an excellent reputation for providing commercial advice to an impressive client base, including start-ups and SMEs as well as some international businesses.

The firm focuses primarily on non-contentious matters but a recent increase in litigation instructions has meant that it is now looking to bring on board an experienced commercial disputes lawyer to head up this offering. With this being a new opportunity the firm is open to applications from either consultants looking for additional work, or would be particularly keen to speak with driven and ambitious litigators keen to lead the development of its disputes practice.

This is a superb opportunity for someone with a strong pedigree in the litigation field to get involved in quality work, with existing ‘live’ matters about to go to trial and further instructions in the pipeline. The firm is looking for an experienced candidate who can run a variety of commercial litigation matters without supervision including taking such cases through to trial, and ideally who has done so at the High Court. The nature of the work is varied and will include shareholder disputes, partnership disputes, breach of contract and potentially  contentious IP, as well as the opportunity to pick up additional work in employment and property litigation.

There is already work in place to handle for a consultant to handle, or for a permanent hire to utilise as a springboard from which to build this offering further. The leadership within the firm is supportive and will be happy to provide the tools necessary for a driven individual who is keen to spearhead this growth.

The role will be predominantly based in the London office, particularly during the start-up phase, although the firm has had a flexible approach to working arrangements for a number of years so candidates seeking hybrid options are also encouraged to apply.

Due to the fact that this is an unsupervised role it is expected that the successful applicant will have accrued circa 7+ years PQE or equivalent (ideally more) and has a proven track record of handling commercial litigation work within a City, boutique or leading commercial firm. Remuneration is around market-rate and will be dependent upon proven ability within the commercial litigation field.
